Ghana Education Service Sends a Letter to All Teacher Unions on The Supply of Laptops

 

The Management of GES has issued a letter dated 29th January,2021 to all teacher unions namely Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) and CCT.

The letter was to inform the teacher unions about the intention of Ghana Education Service to issue a Laptop to all teachers in the Pretertiary schools .

The purpose of this initiative is to enable teachers have a blended teaching ie face to face teaching and online teaching. This has become necessary due to the emergence of COVID-19 pandemic in Ghana.
The Ghana Education Service informed the teacher unions that the Laptop is compulsory for all teachers in the Pretertiary schools. The Government of Ghana will absorb 70% of the cost of the Laptop whiles the teachers will pay 30% through authorization by Controller and Accountant General’s Department.

Other features of the Laptop include softcopies of textbooks, Continuous Professional Development ,Teachers Resource Pack and Professional Learning Communities.
