A group calling itself ‘Volta Region for NDC VEEP now’ is calling on leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) including its founder Jerry John Rawlings to switch to Volta Region and pick the running mate for Mahama ahead of the 2020 polls.
According to the youth led by Mr. Jerry Gayibor, it is the best way to restore the core values of the party and confidence of the people within the region that has been loyal to the umbrella family over the years.
They also added that, Volta region continues to remain the stronghold of the party since former President Rawlings reign but cannot boast of anything solid to point out in each Constituency as well as the region despite the unflinching support.
“This is the time Volta Region must be rewarded for showing their long term loyalty and commitment to the party since 1992 because other regions are also aware of Volta Region commitment towards the NDC party and that is undisputable fact”. The statement read in part.
