Ketu North department of Agriculture hosts 35th Farmers Day Celebration

Ketu North Municipal Assembly in the Volta Region hosted its 35th Annual Farmers’ Day celebration on 13th of December,2019 at Tsiyinu,near Tadzewu. Below are farmers who were awarded.

  • Overall Best Farmer-Gabriel Mawuli Worglo
  • 1st Runner Up-Sylvanus Tamakloe
  • 2nd Runner Up-Mawuewoe Yesumali
  • Best Crops Farmer-Jenna Kpeli
  • Best Livestock Farmer-Njanola Yao Kunde
  • Best Female Farmer-Patience Gomeli
  • Best Youth Farmer-Motorti Tormeti Akos
  • Best Agro Processor-Celestine Agoha
  • Physically Challenged-Richard Dupeamekpor
  • Best Extension Officer-Emmanuel Kudi

The side attraction at this year’s celebration was a special award dubbed “Agbleadzor Prize”, by Denyigba Radio 104.7FM went to the youngest prize recipient or “Best Youth Farmer”; in a bid to give back to society whiles promoting greater youth participation in Agriculture towards the future development of Ghana’s country side and importantly the first of this series of prize awards was done by the Hon (Dr) James Klutsey Avedzi- Member of Parliament for Ketu North.

The 2019 Farmers’ day  was chaired by the paramount chief of Afife Traditional Area,Torgbui Adrakpanya VI.
