The Ministry of Youth and Sports congratulated the Black Galaxies on their comeback victory over Sudan in the African Nations Championship in Algeria.
Annor Walker’s team fought back from a goal down to win 3-1, thanks to goals from Hearts of Oak trio Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Konadu Yiadim, and Seidu Suraj, and are now in a strong position to advance to the next round of the tournament.
“The Ministry wishes to assure you of its total support throughout the tournament as we believe in your ability to excel in the competition and make the nation proud,” a statement issued by the Public Relations unit of the Ministry read.
“The entire nation is solidly behind you with prayers and support in your next match and subsequent ones.”
“The Ministry urges the Galaxies to put up a fierce fighting spirit in their subsequent matches to lift high the flag of Mother Ghana in Algeria.”
“Finally, the Ministry wishes to congratulate the Technical team and the Management team for their performance so far.”
“We wish you the very best of luck in your subsequent matches.”
Following the win, Ghana are second in Group C and will qualify if Madagascar and Sudan draw or Sudan beat Madagascar by a narrow margin.
