A non-governmental organization, Tanko Foundation has donated sanitary pads to second cycle institutions in Ketu north.
The beneficiary schools were, Dzodze-Penyi senior high school, Wovenu senior high school, Weta senior high school and Afife senior high school.
The exercise forms part of the foundations menstrual hygiene project as the world mark Menstrual hygiene day on May 28.
Tanko Foundation believe a lot of girls have been stigmatized especially those who cannot afford sanitary pads and some have to skip school because they were embarrassed they were menstruating. the initiative seek to improve girls attendance in school during their period as some stay out of school over their inability to purchase sanitary pads during such time in the month.
The foundation seek to promote girl child education in Ketu north and in coming days will reach out to all basic schools in Ketu north.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Tanko Foundation for the gesture and promised to make good use of the donation.
